And because there are soooo many, today we will focus on my top favourite affordable-lux shopping options that we have tried and tested with our interior design clients.
EMOH
When I first visited EMOH I was surprised by the size of the store and the amount of display. It is a smaller version of IKEA but with cooler furniture pieces. Their furniture is stylish and modern, with a focus on current design trends, aesthetic furnishings, and eco-friendly materials. They have a good selection of beautiful wooden furniture including rattan and teak. Its affordability doesn’t compromise with the craftsmanship either, so expect good quality and good prices. Most of their staff speak English which makes the shopping experience very easy. Unlike other shops, EMOH has a large display of living room, dining room, and bedroom setups that will help you visualize your space while getting to try and test all the furniture. They also have a great variety of light fixtures, so we always look at EMOH when we need to source nice pendant lighting at affordable prices. Additionally, if you can’t find what you are looking for you can always head to their convenient online shop. They often have promotions and good display sales so make sure to keep an eye on their website to get the best deals!
EMOH also offers furniture rentals, so if you are only in Hong Kong for a short period of time, you can still make your home as beautiful as you can!

Comfy Home Furniture
It was my client who first told me about Comfyhome when we were looking for small chairs for their apartment. I ventured into the 9th floor of a very industrial building to find- nice, clean and chic shop full of affordable lux. Comfyhome is quite popular among locals because most of their advertising is in Chinese, hence why I’ve never heard about them before! However I was surprised that their staff’s English was excellent and they were so friendly… so I ended up buying more than chairs!
They have a good variety of upholstered furniture, like small ottomans, chairs, and sofas at very affordable prices and a few really nice dining room tables. Unlike other furniture stores in Hong Kong where the furniture are PollyPocket sizes for very compact apartments, Comfyhome has a mix of sizes from medium to large. They also carry extendable dining tables and nice proportional L-shaped sofas that they can customize according to your colour requirements.
Not to mention, they also have a good selection of home decor, wall clocks, mirrors, home decor, and many other smaller items that you never know where to buy but you definitely need.

Nidoo Living
This was my most recent discovery in Kwun Tong and what a store! The shop is managed by two very friendly partners that are as passionate about interiors as me! Nidoo Living provides a selection of tastefully curated furniture, including sofas, sofa beds, dining and bar tables, chairs and benches, sideboards and cabinets, beds, desks, and dressing tables. Anything you need for your new home can be found here. While the prices are a bit more on the mid-range side, it is definitely worth your money as the quality is excellent. Plus, they cater to various interior styles and preferences so you’re sure to find something that suits you and your home.
One of the standout features of Nidoo Living is their custom-made options. They offer personalized furniture solutions, allowing customers to customize their sofas and solid wood furniture to meet their specific needs and preferences. If you need to make custom cabinets of any kind, you can provide your dimensions and pick a colour from the variety of samples in the store and voila! Their lead times are also not long, with an average of around 6 weeks for custom items.
